ERIC BENET HAS THE NO. 1 RECORD AT URBAN ADULT RADIO

Eric Benet's hit single, "You're The Only One" from his upcoming Love & Life CD has already reached the No. 1 spot on urban ac radio this week according to BDS.   The Grammy nominated R&B soul singer/songwriter/producer's new cd follows a four year hiatus and is a soulful journey through romance, love and the joy of living. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native returned to his hometown roots to work with longtime production partner Demonte Posey and writer/producer George Nash, Jr. to create a feel-good body of work reminiscent of classic R&B infused with a tint of gospel and jazz. "I'm in a good place in my life and it's all reflected in these songs," stated Benet.

Eric Benet first turned heads on the music scene with his Warner Bros. Records debut "True To Myself" (2000) which featured the Grammy-nominated duet "Spend My Life With You" with R&B siren Tamia.   In 2004, his follow-up sophomore album "Hurricane" brought Eric into the studio with multi-Grammy winning producer David Foster.   This time around, Benet took total control of the CD's creative direction, and takes a chance at the helm of the project.   The result: an organic and sincere-feel in the music that resonates from the laid-back grooves of the opening "Love Patience Time" to the heartfelt revelation in the album's next single, "The Hunger."

The video for "You're The Only One" is in heavy rotation at BETJ and BET.com will be hosting an album listening party this week, giving fans a sneak peak of what is being praised as his best album to date. Eric will be also be in New York on his September 9 release date to make an appearance on NBC's Today Show and will then hit the road with fellow R&B crooner, Dwele, throughout September and October.
