RushmoreDrive.com, the new search engine for the Black community, has as its core mission to "Elevate Black" in all that they do with the company and their search results. In the hiring of Dr. Nsenga Burton, principle meets practice in this outstanding selection for the company's new Editorial Director.
Dr. Burton joins the RushmoreDrive.com team with over ten years of experience in journalism and new media. Prior to joining RushmoreDrive.com, she worked for Arnold Communications, Lighthouse Strategic Group, the Labryinth Project and has run her own media company, Burtonworks Multimedia since 2001. She holds degrees from Northwestern University (B.S. Radio Television and Film); New York University (M.A. Cinema Studies); University of Pennsylvania (M.A. Communications) and the University of Southern California (Ph.D. Critical Studies/Cinema-Television).
"I am excited to be joining the RushmoreDrive.com team because it presents the opportunity to create an Editorial vision that meets the needs of a community that is underserved on the web. Through technological means, RushmoreDrive.com is changing the way that people search, think and dream. I am happy to be a part of this vision and this team," Dr. Burton said.
“I could not be more excited that we were able to attract someone of Nsenga's caliber. In the short time she's been on board, we have already benefited from her critical thinking, exceptional writing, and keen strategic decision-making skills. Nsenga will ensure RushmoreDrive.com becomes the search engine America turns to to search and find the best Black online content providers, Black writers, and commentary on issues that matter to Black people,” said RushmoreDrive.com President and CEO Johnny Taylor, Jr.
Dr. Burton welcomes the challenge that her new job presents and she knows precisely what she intends to accomplish and how to do it.
"I am committed to shaping the editorial direction of the web site so that it is informative, engaging and offers strong opinions. I am excited about giving people whose voices have resided on the margins of society and in cyberspace an opportunity to be heard. Creating dialogue in web communities that reflects the discussions that are taking place in real-world communities is essential to the survival of Black and Brown communities. I am eager to be a part of this," Dr. Burton said.

I can tell the difference already. The other editor was weak and now it's getting a lot better. I don't know Dr. Burton, but I love what she's doing already. Keep up the work people. Love the mccain/obama myths piece
