THE MINORITY MEDIA & TELECOMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL TAPS NEW MEDIA YOUTH EXPERT LAUREN COLEMAN TO SPEAK AT THE SIXTH ANNUAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLICY CONFERENCE

Punch Media Group (PMG) is clearly becoming the premier voice  in the convergence of new media and the cutting-edge youth market.   As such,  PMG president and owner Lauren Coleman has just been tapped to speak in Washington, DC next month at a prestigious gathering of government policy makers and new media powerati scheduled for July 21-22, 2008.

The sixth annual Telecommunications Policy Conference is sponsored by the revered Washington-based organization, the Minority Media & Telecommunications Council. Coleman will join venture capital titans and such prominent figures in multimedia media as FCC Commissioners Michael Copps, Deborah Tate, Robert McDowell and Jonathan Adelstein;  Andrew Laughlin of Google among others to discuss policy and business in media and technology in regards to multicultural ventures, equity and content.

The two-day summit will include a variety of power-breakfasts, workshops and panels. Coleman will be featured on the  "How New Media Can Reinvigorate Your Broadcasting and Publishing Business" plenary, which will analyze the unique melding of new media and traditional broadcasting and publishing industries in today's global business environment.

According to a study released in May, 2008 by BIGresearch SIMM,  minorities have a higher  regular usage of new media than Whites across all media types. They are more likely to use iPods, text on cell phones, play video games, use video/picture phones, instant messaging on line and watch videos on cell phones.

"It is an honor to take part in such a timely and important conference, given the impact particularly,  the multicultural youth demo has on new media," says Coleman. "It is my goal to ensure that this demographic is fully represented when it comes to Washington policy, venture capital, content, and business development."
