Young Trimm selected as one of four BMI "got next" artists
Atlanta, GA - April 23, 2008 Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) will host their annual Unsigned Urban Showcase on Thursday April 24, 2008 in Atlanta, GA. Lil Wayne, Teyanna Taylor and Sean Garrett will headline an exclusive showcase featuring four rated "next" artists all vying for a developmental deal with Myspace/Interscope. A prestigious panel of judges includes: DJ Toomp, the Clutch, Don Vito, Chris Hicks (Warner Music Group), etc. will select the winning talent.
Young Trimm, along with rap group Hollyweerd, Brandon Hines, and Jarrod Benton were selected from hundreds of urban artists to compete for an opportunity to be signed to the largest on-line social networking community in the country.
"This is a great opportunity," says the East Point/ATL bred emcee. "I'm definitely going to bring it, but real talk it was an honor to be chosen. I've performed in shows with Hollyweerd before, they're dope. But everyone on the bill is talented."
Young Trimm's distinctive southern drawl over Battery 5's eccentric production has scored big on the underground scene. "We took Trimm's southern roots and meshed it with the cataclysmic force that is Battery 5; rock, hip hop, soul, bass, and alternative and we got something that no one else is selling right now," says Battery 5 CEO Gregory "GStakz" Smith, "Thursday night is going to be something special."
