So, once again, as I do on a daily basis, I am reading the newspaper and I read a story that was a follow-up to something I came across yesterday in the New York Daily News. In Crown Heights, (King of Racial Unrest between Blacks and Jews) there was another incident of an attack that was based on racial tension. This time, it was a Black man that was attacked by Jewish men and maybe this is why it isn’t front page news across the nation. We do know that if it were the other way around, I wouldn’t have to be the one telling you about this new story!

I just find it amazing that Andrew Charles, a 20 year old college student, was attacked by 2 Hasidic Jews on Albany Ave. in Brooklyn and there doesn’t seem to be any interest in the media to cover a story that, had it been the reverse, Black men attacking Hasidic Jews, we would have been force fed the story several times during television newscasts, email alerts and blog entries.

The attack was enough that the victim had to be taken to Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center for treatment. And, of course, not surprisingly, no one from the Jewish community is speaking on it or cooperating with the police, yet, if this were taking place in the Black community, the police would be plastered all over TV to complain how no one is coming forward and they can’t solve anything because witnesses are refusing to cooperate. Have we heard a peep from law enforcement? Of course not! Are there camera crews going into the neighborhood to get comments from the community? No and it makes you wonder.

And I think the ONLY reason the police are even getting involved is because the victim is the son of a police officer……
