RAPPERS ESHAM AND ROYCE 5'9" HIT THE ROAD THIS MONTH FOR SACRIFICIAL LAMBZ 2008 TOUR
"We’re kicking the doors down with one of the most devastating sets of my entire career," explains Esham of going out on the road to support his first LP, Sacrificial Lambz, in three years. "Royce is the perfect complement to our music and he’s a hip hop heavyweight in his own right."
With SoundScans over the seven figure mark—all on the indie grind—Esham is a music mogul. He produces his albums and directs his own videos, while running his own multimedia conglomerate as CEO of Aknu Media.
Esham attributes his longevity to his DIY approach. This year his label released a compilation called The Butcher Shop featuring a VIP list of Detroit talent including Royce 5'9," Bizarre from D12, Insane Clown Posse, Trick Trick, Street Lord Juan, Big Herk and Stretch Money. Included free with the project was his 2007 EP Lamb Chopz which was previously only available digitally through Tunecore.
“Sacrificial Lambz is the answer for those seeking a more distinct and elaborate brand of hip hop” notes Esham.
The resume of Royce 5'9" is dually impressive including iconic collaborations with hip hop's brightest including Eminem, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre, Diddy, among others. His music is known internationally from being featured in Rockstar Games timeless "Grand Theft Auto III". In 2007, Royce dropped the revered Bar Exam mixtape, hosted by DJ Premier and Statik Selektah. Royce is currently putting the finishing touches on his 4th official album which is in the midst of a major label bidding war.
Sacrificial Lambz features 27 tracks and will be in stores worldwide Summer '08.
