MICA RUNWAY RETURNS ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR BUT BIGGER AND BETTER WITH MUCH TO CELEBRATE AND OFFER THE ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT COMMUNITIES

Returning to New York City with a Mardi-Gras theme and heightened expectations, 2008 MICA Runway will be a 4 day extravaganza of talent, networking, and celebration that will take place from Thursday, June 19th – Sunday, June 22nd. Founded by American Inventor Finalist and Award-winning Independent Filmmaker, Ann Marie "Jade" Bryan, MICA stands for Multicultural and International Consortium (of Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing) Artists and Advocates. "This year, we had to raise the bar. The success of our 2006 MICA Runway fashion, talent, and film show only inspired me to create more opportunities for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and disabled communities to come together with the hearing and nondisabled communities as one on the level of overall talented people. In 2006, we had a successful one day event with the help and support of many corporate, product, and financial sponsors. There were also so many volunteers that dedicated their time and efforts to make it happen. Let's not forget them." MICA Runway will showcase new fashion designs, industry standard and competitive models, an art and charity auction showcase to include live art and sneaker painting, a film showcase, and a host of talent to include – singing, spoken word, dance, and drama. 2008 MICA Runway will include a new installation with Teen MICA Idol, open to ages 13-20 and will take place on the last day of the MICA Runway events.  Also confirmed are two celebrity judges, Michelle Banks and Monique Holt. As the event progresses more announcements will be made and special guests will be confirmed. Some of the proceeds will benefit a local Breast Cancer organization.

With M.A.C. makeup and Boru Vodka as this year's signature sponsors and a list of impressive supporting sponsors, MICA Runway is still accepting submissions for additional sponsorship. Currently, MICA Runway is also accepting submissions from fashion designers and all categories of talent (music, fashion, film, art, dance, drama). There will be an upcoming audition for Teen Mica Idol and models, age 18 and up to be held on Monday, April 21st, 2008 in NYC at 211 East 83rd Street, (bet 2nd and 3rd Avenues). The audition time is from 5-9PM.
