In A DEEPER LOVE, which is written and directed by Darrell Smith (owner of Terry D. Films) and produced by Lawrence Layne Productions, Gina (Chyna Layne – Lee Daniels' PUSH, HBO's LIFE SUPPORT, Dr. Miracle commercials) and Kevin (Rayan Lawrence- BACKSTAB, KIARI) are the perfect match.  The two are deeply in love with each other and on the same page with many things including their opposition to marriage. Afraid that marriage will ruin her relationship as it has done to her parents' marriage, Gina has vowed never to marry. After being pressured into marriage with the mother of his two sons, Kevin has vowed never to marry again. But when Gina's co-worker, Lenny (Hawkins-Byrd, TV's Judge Judy), invites her to his church, as he routinely does each Friday, odd occurrences happen that will lead her to a powerful message. Questions are answered that she has secretly had in her heart, but were ignored. Now seeing her relationship with Kevin in a new light, Gina has a decision to make. Does she walk away from all that she and Kevin have built or does she ignore the new love that she has found in another?

With A DEEPER LOVE being set in one of the most culturally rich cities of the world – Brooklyn, New York, this spiritual drama is a sure hit that all can relate to. Chyna Layne and Rayan Lawrence, with Petri Hawkins Byrd (TV's Judge Judy), Gwynne Flanagan, Christopher L. McAllister and Nazanin Nour lead outstanding performances.  Film critic Max Achille from THE SOURCE calls this film "...A TRUE MASTERPIECE!" Purchase your tickets today and come and see the film that critics are raving about.

ABOUT THE SAN DIEGO FILM FESTIVAL

As it marks the 5th anniversary, the 2008 San Diego Film Festival will take place this year from January 31 st – February 3rd. The San Diego Black Film Festival, originally known as the Noir Film Festival, was established in 2004.  The event is a yearly fundraiser for the Black Historical Society of San Diego, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.  The Black Historical Society of San Diego is the largest black historical society in the country.

The San Diego Black Film Festival was established after several board members complained that though San Diego is the second largest city in California, as of 2003, it did not have a viable nor mainstream black film festival.

The San Diego Black Film Festival is now one of the fastest growing film festivals in the country and is the event in southern California where you're mostly likely to spot major black film stars and directors just hanging out, taking in the event and films. You're also likely to meet some of the hottest up and coming black filmmakers around.

The San Diego Black Film Festival features the best in independent black films.  The event includes an opening reception, awards party, festival party, panel discussions, celebrity appearances/meet and greet, directors, writers, industry executives, etc.
